In version 1.1 through 1.7 there was an error in the routine
that picked which door the Gotcha was behind. Door B was
weighted and A leaned, it has been corrected.
Version 2.0 is different in the fact that the doors were made
smaller for a second time in order to get a little more speed
out of the execution of the program. I also put the score at
the top of the screen so the user would have to wait longer to
see if the Gotcha had appeared. I also added the callers time
to the menu. I always type way ahead when I play and I never got
to see the time before it was replaced with the Gotcha prompt
or the screen cleared for the next screen printing.
Version 2.01. I removed the score from the top of the play
screen and put it beneath the doors where the prompt and score
are displayed together. I added a score display to the Gotcha!
so that the user would know their score when they lost the game.
When I played it myself and had typed ahead I would lose and I
did not get to see how far I had gone.
Version 2.02. Redid the play screen once more removing the top
display so that score and turn number are displayed below the
doors. It is now one line and should be faster over slower
modems and/or slower computers.
Version 2.03. I corrected some errors in the keyboard timeout
routines. It was possible to timeout even if you had pressed a
key. This has now been corrected.
Version 2.04. Not sure what I did in this version, do not believe
it was a full public release. Poor record keeping.
Version 2.05. Just some changes to the menu so that it is the
same as the menus in my other door software. No bug reports.
Version 3.00. Changed over to a serial number system for door
registrations. No longer do you have to get a hard coded copy.
Numbers will work on all future releases.
Version 3.01. Had an error in the serial number routine. Not
all registrations were acknowledged. This has been fixed.
Version 3.02. Same fix as 3.01.
Version 4.0. This version is not downward compatible with earlier
versions. Now supports many BBS formats and baud rates to 115,200.
See DOCs for details. Program also used locate positioning for
screen displays when used on IBM/Compatible computer. Uses Door
Patch 3.8 (DORPCH38.EXE). This version requires that SHARE.EXE be
loaded since it will run on two nodes at one time.
